The offshore oil and gas industry has made new moves! The second phase of my country's first offshore oil and gas equipment manufacturing "smart factory" project has started

Recently, new news about the construction of my country's first offshore oil and gas equipment manufacturing "smart factory" - Offshore Oil Engineering Tianjin Intelligent Manufacturing Base has come out. The second phase of the project will be launched on July 21, 2023. Construction started in Tianjin Binhai New Area.

It is understood that since the first phase of the project was completed and put into use in June 2022, the "smart factory" has completed the manufacturing of more than 10 individual offshore oil and gas equipment units. As the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s smart manufacturing demonstration application base and central enterprise digital transformation demonstration base, the start of the second phase of the project also marks that my country’s first offshore oil and gas equipment manufacturing “smart factory” has taken new steps to strengthen, supplement and extend the chain.

After the completion of the second phase of the project, the "smart factory" will form four intelligent production centers consisting of a plane segmented production line, a process pipeline production line, a structural pipeline production line and an automated three-dimensional warehouse. The final assembly stations, docks and shipping channels will also enhance the base’s final assembly and ship berthing supply support capabilities. It is of great significance to accelerate the digital transformation of my country's offshore oil and gas equipment manufacturing and ensure national energy security.

With the development of science and technology, the offshore oil and gas industry continues to innovate and progress, providing an important guarantee for global energy supply. Data show that my country's offshore oil and gas industry will achieve an added value of 272.4 billion yuan in 2022, an increase of 7.2% over the previous year. Offshore oil and gas production increased by 6.2% and 10.2% respectively over the previous year, and offshore oil and gas exploration and development expanded into the deep sea. In addition, according to the China Business Industry Research Institute’s prediction, the added value of my country’s offshore oil and gas industry will exceed 300 billion yuan in 2023.

The report of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed to "improve the ability to develop marine resources, develop the marine economy, protect the marine ecological environment, resolutely safeguard the country's marine rights and interests, and build a strong maritime nation." The report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed to "accelerate the construction of a maritime power" and further clarify the prominent position of the ocean in the development of national sovereignty and the construction of ecological civilization.

To build a maritime power and develop maritime undertakings, we must vigorously develop marine science and technology. Promote the design, manufacturing and use of offshore engineering equipment, enhance offshore oil and gas exploration and development, and strengthen the transportation of offshore oil and gas resources. At the same time, attention should also be paid to safety and environmental protection during the development process, reducing the impact on the environment by taking safety measures, reducing pollutant emissions, and repairing damaged ecosystems.

In recent years, my country has ushered in new technological breakthroughs in a number of marine engineering equipment such as deep-sea oil and gas mining equipment, deep-sea fishery breeding equipment, and offshore wind power equipment. With the rapid development of the offshore engineering equipment industry market, market demand will also usher in a new dawn.
